Job Overview:
SEEDs for Autism is seeking a dedicated and passionate Job Coach to join our team. This is a part-time position. This role is essential in guiding individuals towards personal and professional growth, particularly those facing challenges related to autism and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in workforce development and social work, with a commitment to empowering others through education and mentorship.

Duties Include:

·         Provide individualized coaching to clients, focusing on personal development and skill enhancement.

·         Develop and implement training programs tailored to the unique needs of clients, ensuring accessibility for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.

·         Educate clients on employment labor laws and workforce development opportunities.

·         Mentor clients through various challenges.

·         Conduct interviews to assess client needs and progress, adapting coaching strategies accordingly.

  • Collaborate with community resources and organizations to support client goals.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress reports for evaluation purposes.

  • Write daily and monthly reports/data collecting.

Skills Required:

·         Strong understanding of workforce development principles.

·         Knowledge of employment labor law, as it pertains to individuals with disabilities.

  • Experience working with people on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities.

  • Excellent educational skills with the ability to convey complex information simply.

  • Proficient in mentoring techniques that foster growth and resilience in clients.

  • Ability to develop training materials that are engaging and effective.

  • Be a team player and be adaptable to necessary changes for individualized participant success.

Educational and Other Requirements:

·         Has a Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Education, etc.) and documentation of one (1) year of full-time employment working with individuals with disabilities; or

·         Has a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Education, etc.) and documentation of two (2) years of full-time employment working with individuals with disabilities; or

·         Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. and documentation of five (5) years of full-time employment working with individuals with disabilities.

·         A criminal history check and Fingerprint Clearance Card is required (we will give you instructions).

This role is essential in guiding individuals towards personal and professional growth, particularly those facing challenges related to autism and developmental disabilities. This role will guide participants to identify, understand, and change specific actions or habits to achieve personal goals, focusing on actionable, present-future, skills-based mentoring. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in workforce development and social work, with a commitment to empowering others through education and mentorship.

Duties Include:

·         Provide individualized coaching to clients, focusing on personal development and skill enhancement.

·         Provide direct support in one-on-one or small-group interventions to clients with challenging behaviors.

·         Work with clients and staff to set specific goals and create actionable plans to change behaviors and address issues such as communication skills, job habits, motivation, productivity, and stress management.

·         Develop and implement training programs tailored to the unique needs of clients, ensuring accessibility for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.

·         Mentor clients through various challenges. Employ strategies like positive reinforcement, cognitive behavioral techniques to reframe thoughts, self-awareness building, and data-driven interventions.

  • Collaborate with community resources and organizations to support client goals.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress reports for evaluation purposes.

Skills Required:

  • Experience working with people on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities.

  • Previous experience in behavior intervention, special education, or mental health consultation.

  • Strong collaborator and communicator who enjoys working with their peers to implement treatment plans.

  • A compassionate approach to care with flexibility to roll with changes to meet the needs of our clients.

  • Ability to write curriculum and conduct research for life skills and social skills development for young adults impacted by autism.
